May, 2008
Dear Members,
Beth El Jacob Synagogue is proud to offer to its membership an opportunity left to us through the bequest of Fanny Pruce. A scholarship fund has been established for the children of members who will be attending college for the first time or who currently attend college. In order to apply for a scholarship, the following requirements need to be met:
Your family must maintain a full membership in good standing for two years with a minimum annual dues payment of $500. It is expected the family will maintain their membership.
Your child must be considered a full-time student.
Colleges must be accredited and provide degreed programs.
Submit a letter to the scholarship committee explaining where you are going to school or what school you currently attend. Include information about your future plans, your involvement in the Jewish Community and with Jewish institutions and organizations, and any other information you feel appropriate for the committee to consider. Letters must be authored by the student.
Along with the letter submit the following:
For a new college student, a copy of your high school transcript and a letter of acceptance to the college or university.
For a current student, a copy of your college transcript. Current college students must maintain a āCā average to qualify.
All information must be received by August 1, 2008.
Send your information to:
